SAN DIEGO - March 10, 2010 - Cali Bamboo, a premier manufacturer of green building materials for residential and commercial projects made entirely from bamboo, today announced it will offer the first 8-foot long Fossilized Strand bamboo deck boards.
The company’s new Fossilized product line is the first flat surface outdoor deck board of its size produced by any manufacturer, and has passed all California Class “A” fire and weather tests.
“Previously, the largest deck boards were limited to six feet in length and it’s been our goal to develop one solid piece that allows for simple installation,” said Jeff Goldberg, CEO of Cali Bamboo. “We’ve invested in proprietary technology in order to manufacture this product, and are proud of not only its environmentally-friendly attributes, but also its ability to meet stringent building standards.
The bamboo deck boards offer customers an upgrade to current decking options, and have the density, strength and durability characteristics comparable to Brazilian IPE decking. In comparison to other materials such as cedar, redwood, or pressure treated, the products are stronger and more durable than traditional hardwood offerings without sacrificing beauty or functionality. Cali Bamboo decking is also termite resistant, weather tested, LEED qualified and priced similarly to standard decking options.
