SAN DIEGO – September 20, 2011 Cali Bamboo, a premier manufacturer of green building materials for residential and commercial projects made primarily from bamboo, announced today it donated $50,000 to the Surfrider Foundation at the Celebrity Expression Session earlier this month.
The company vowed to donate $500 for every celebrity wave caught at the 6th Annual event in Malibu, Calif. which was attended by various celebrities from film, music and television.
“We had a great time at this year’s event and it was exciting to see all the celebrity surfer’s join together to raise money for a good cause,” says Jeff Goldberg, CEO and President of Cali Bamboo. “Our $50,000 contribution will go toward Surfrider’s Ocean Friendly Garden’s campaign and will support their basic educational classes, hands on workshops and Garden Assistance Program for chapters across the U.S.”
Some of the celebrities included Eric Avery, Eric Balfour, David Chokachi, Tate Donovan, Brian Geraghty, Gregory Harrison, Chad Lowe, John Slattery, Jesse Spencer, Ross Thomas and Sam Trammell.

“Urban runoff is a number one source of ocean pollution no matter where someone lives.
