Green Building Company Pledges 3 Months of Fundraising to Environmental Nonprofit

Cali Bamboo is teaming up with The Surfrider Foundation to launch a massive Conservation Campaign for the duration of 2016, in direct support of the green building manufacturer’s mission to “make a difference today for a more sustainable future tomorrow.”

Cali Bamboo was founded on principles of environmental integrity, with a compelling passion to give viable impetus to the green building movement through the provision of durable, beautiful, sustainable alternatives to traditional building products (such as hardwood flooring).

The Surfrider Foundation is a “grassroots nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.” Cali Bamboo has joined forces with Surfrider periodically since 2009 for various fundraisers and local events, based on their clear alignment in mission and priorities. The Conservation Campaign marks the first larger, joint initiative to raise funds over a significant period of time.

“We’re joining forces to keep our beaches clean, our air breathable, and our forests and natural habitats intact. We’re changing the future of our world,” says Tanner Haigwood, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of Cali Bamboo. “Between now and December 10th of this year, Cali Bamboo is matching all direct donations to the San Diego Surfrider foundation made through our hosted donation page, for up to $5,000.”

Fundraising efforts kicked off October 2nd with Cali Bamboo’s sponsorship of Surfrider’s 25th Annual Paddle for Clean Water in Ocean Beach, and will continue through to a Beach Cleanup at the same location on November 5th, closing with the first annual “Climb for Climate” in early December—an indoor, family-friendly rock climbing event hosted by Mesa Rim climbing center in Mira Mesa, CA.

“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with Cali Bamboo for this initiative,” says Caroline Canter, Surfrider San Diego Chapter Coordinator. “To be so successful as a business and still maintain an awareness of the importance of giving back and protecting our environment… This is truly a powerful thing.”

Event information and donation options can be found at Calibamboo.com/Surfrider. 100% of all proceeds directly benefit the Surfrider foundation.
