Each year Team CALI marks the holiday season by giving back to the San Diego community where our headquarters is based. 2019 saw those efforts focus on PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), an organization aimed at supporting those without homes in the state of California.

PATH follows a “Housing First” approach, based on research that shows the most effective way to tackle homelessness is by connecting people with permanent housing and then focusing on stabilization through voluntary supportive services. To that end, PATH operates 25 locations in California with services in 140 cities and more than 1,000 units of permanent supportive housing. The organization helps with housing searches, case management, job training, healthcare, and ongoing support so that housing can be maintained. Since 2013, PATH has connected more than 7,500 people to permanent homes.

In addition to its focus on housing, PATH provides needed supplies to people in San Diego without homes and those living in its shelter facilities. The organization is always looking for product donations, so CALI decided to contribute and have a little friendly competition in the process.

Dividing into teams by department, CALI met the challenge by assembling approximately 1,300 care kits, in addition to amassing blankets, hundreds of pairs of socks and other needed items.

Not that it matters, but the CALI Customer Experience team won the challenge. 🙂
