Do you make 5 ft stair treads in bamboo mocha
Not treads, but we do have flush stair nosings in 6ft length that can get a similar look.
I purchase Cali bamboo vinyl stair threads. How are they install? Should the nose be flush with the riser or should it be a gap? With a gap the stairs are dangerous. Had an incident where they all pop off after setting 48 Hours when someone steps on edge of the stairs. This is why I need to know how they should be installed.
Hi Regina,
You’re going to want to rip the back of the tread off to fit your stairs so the nose has very little overhang. We recommend securing them with construction adhesive.
is there a video on how to install the plastic / lpv stair nose? Mine came with no directions. Do I just glue the plastic piece to stair then click on nose piece or does it get nailed or screwed in? Help!
Sorry no videos on that topic yet. Yes, you’ll use a construction adhesive and glue down the track piece and the stair nosing will snap down into place.
Can this be installed on existing engineered floors to avoid pops from engineered floors ?
Not sure what you mean by “pops”. If you’re referring to tenting or buckling where the floorboards rise up, no, installing trim will likely not keep planks from popping up.
Im curious how to connect my new floors with tile? I have tile at the front door entrance and I just purchased my new cali flooring and can’t figure it out. Also im wondering what is the best product to put down on top of my subflooring before I lay my new cali floors.
Hi Elizabeth,
If your subfloor is concrete you’ll want to either seal it with Titebond 531+ (if you are gluing down) or you can also just lay down Cali Complete and tape it with the metallic seal tape (if you plan to float). You’ll want to leave 1/2″ expansion space around the walls and that tile flooring, then you can cover the gap with either a t-molding or if the height difference is greater than 1/2″ you can use an overlap reducer. There’s a lot of great installation information in our DIY Flooring section of our website. If you have any other questions, just ask!
Best,
