1st Place Winner – Stuart and Teri shaded the patio of their Pratt, Kansas home with Carbonized bamboo fencing and it looks absolutely stunning with sunlight filtering in! They constructed the shade with a clear polycarbonate covering to protect the bamboo and patio furniture, and love that it allows them to enjoy the patio even when it’s raining. “We are happy with the finished project and have received many compliments on it!” says Teri.

2nd Place Winner – When Jeremy and his wife from Birmingham, Alabama were expecting their first child, they were drawn to the color and warmth of bamboo furniture for the baby’s room but could not find a matching bookcase, so Jeremy decided to build one himself with Natural Horizontal bamboo plywood! What started as just a bookcase eventually became a toy chest, table, and then bed with bookcase headboard, and Jeremy would also love to build a lego table with built-in organizational compartments. “It proves that if you can’t buy it, then just make it. It will come out better in the end that way,” says Jeremy.

3rd Place Winner – Building the wine analysis lab Baker Wine & Grape in Paso Robles was a longtime dream for Brenda, who chose Greenclaimed® Shoreline cork flooring to provide comfort for long hours of work, plus durability that stands up to high traffic, wine and acid stains, and the paws of her 11-year-old Australian Shepherd Patch. “We wanted to create a space that was inviting to our clients in the front and said ‘professional’ in the lab space,” says Brenda, “Since most of our clients are in the wine industry, they are just wowed by the cork flooring.” Who knew wine could be so scientific!
