The ultra-modern bamboo composite decking is being relaunched as BamDeck 4G with an updated construction. The new planks maintain customer-favorite features like a smooth, matte finish and recycled composition.
Cali Bamboo, the direct-to-consumer and omnichannel leader in both flooring and decking, has relaunched its popular bamboo composite decking product, dubbing the fourth generation line BamDeck 4G. The redesigned planks are scalloped on the bottom and grooved on the sides for easy, DIY installations with Cali’s universal hidden fastening system. Planks come in a wide plank size (8 ft long x 8¼ in wide) and in extra long (16 ft long x 5-7/16 in wide).
A smooth, matte finish allows for modern-looking decking, preferred by architects and designers for use in contemporary spaces. In a world of composite decks all attempting to mimic wood, BamDeck’s understated texture and classic, versatile colors stand out from the pack. Planks sport a solid composition with uniform hues from top to bottom and never require sealing or staining.
Best of all, BamDeck 4G retains the same sustainable bamboo composite formula eco-minded installers love. Planks are made of 60% reclaimed bamboo fiber left over from the bamboo flooring manufacturing process, and 40% recycled HDPE (high density polyethylene) plastics. This unique composition makes planks better protected from the elements and resistant to mold, mildew, and insects. It also means no trees or habitat were harmed in BamDeck’s creation.
The new BamDeck 4G line comes in the following colors:
Coffee
Colored to perfection and steeped in unassuming charm, Coffee BamDeck composite decking works with any design and project. A subtle, dusty Earth-tone keeps planks natural, versatile, and easy to incorporate with a wide range of outdoor styles.
Slate
Cool, but never cold, Slate BamDeck composite decking is colored in a perfect granite gray — the ultimate in contemporary design. Sleek, silvery planks are understated enough to work with any style, but still have the ability to uplift the entire outdoor vibe.
Charcoal
A deep, woodsy brown, Charcoal BamDeck composite decking is guaranteed to give any outdoor space an upscale makeover. Planks are colored in bittersweet richness and lend a natural decadence that complements simple and complex projects alike.
Durability concerns dogs running on it their nails gauging the surface shoes scuff marks chairs also how deep is the color is it all the way or just on the surface
Hi Luis,
If you’re concerned about scratches, I would choose a wrapped composite deck material such as our TruOrganics.
How is your Mattte finish going to stand up to 4 labrador retrievers nails being on it on a daily basis? It is their path to the dog yard…… they sometime play hard on the deck racing around. Is it going to scratch? I really like the wide plank look and color choice Slate.
Hi Erika,
Honestly not as well as a capped material would. I would choose TruOrganics over BamDeck if you’re concerned about dog nails leaving marks.
Hi, is the TruOrganic a CoreMax or a Cap?
Hi Jun,
TruOrganics is CoreMax (holes down the middle), but it also is considered to be capped, but unlike cheaper composite decking, its wrap goes around all 4 sides not just the top face, locking out moisture from above and below.
What is the price on the charcoal BamBeck flooring ( with scalloped design )?
Hi Lauren,
There are two products on that page(wide and standard) and they’re different prices. Unfortunately, we only offer BamDeck with a flat surface, the ridged product is no longer available. If you’re still interested in the flat product, give us a call at (888) 788-2254 and we’re happy to assist you.
I am looking at doing my pool deck, we live in florida how hot do they get…compared to pavers or cool deck
Hi Elaine,
I’ve done heat tests with different brands and I can tell you they all perform about the same, it’s the composite deck’s color that determines how hot it gets. Generally speaking the darker the deck, the hotter it gets, and vice versa. If you are concerned about heat, stick with a light-colored material. Slate is the lightest BamDeck, while Glacier and Mojave are the lightest colors in our TrueOrganics line. If you haven’t yet, check out this video I shot a few years back, Eddie lives in Miami and was concerned about the deck getting too hot for his kids.
Best,
Looks interesting, I want to use this decking for a outdoor shower. What’s the past history & longevity of this product?
We’ve been selling it since 2012 with very few issues related to moisture. The only issue we get with it is since it is unwrapped, it has a beautiful matte finish which people really like, but it makes it more susceptible to stains and scratches. This is why we developed a fully wrapped product (TruOrganics) but some people just gotta have that matte finish look.
